What kind of stories do you write?

I write an eclectic mix of rural, horror, folk and fantasy fiction set along shadowy back roads and in quaint small towns. I take seemingly ordinary situations and seed them with supernatural elements to grow a story the reader thinks about long after they've turned the last page.

What makes your stories distinctive?

My stories often start in seemingly familiar places, then twist into something unexpected. I’m interested in what happens when ordinary people meet unusual challenges, creatures, or face a warped reality. I enjoy putting myself in my character's heads and writing in their voices. Many of my stories fall into an unconventional niche. If people take a chance, they are usually entertained in a way they weren't expecting. That's important to me.

What can readers expect when they pick up your work?

Expect tension, mixed with wonder. If it's a horror story, I like to start out in a normal place that becomes eerie as you read. I like a big reveal. If it's fantasy, it leans cozy, but there are still creatures and difficult situations the main characters have to meet and overcome.

I took this photo the other day, learning the backroads around my new home. There are some good stories to be had here.

In the meantime, here are some updates on my two new books coming soon:

My new book, Cigar Box Saint, will be published December 4, 2026, by Tiny Worlds Publishing. I’m so excited to share it with you!

When Kane Milo falls in with a group of people hunted by their past, nothing is what it seems. When he learns about his family’s history, his dreams and visions suddenly make sense.

When lies, betrayal and secrets leave a friend dead, Kane realizes not only may he be next, he’s the only one who can see the way out.

If you enjoy books like Boy’s Life, The Body or Something Wicked This Way Comes, you might enjoy Cigar Box Saint.

I’m nearly finished with a novella, Judderbones, which I’ll release independently in October. This is a quick horror read about a small town with a big (bug?) problem. It will be perfect for Halloween!

All my books are available anywhere you usually buy books online and now they’re also available in e-book format on gimmebook.com! This new platform is amazing.
