Welcome!

Books were my first love and I always wanted to be a storyteller. I wanted a piece of that word magic. To write a story in such a way that whoever read it would find escape or feel something so strongly they'd think about it long after.

A little over a year ago I gathered up all my stories: old ones, the scribbles on notebook paper, and everything in between and started finding ways to freshen them up for new eyes. I wrote two dark short story collections, and then two light, small-town fantasy books. You can find links to them through the book tab here. I write stories about people who find themselves in unusual situations and how they get out of them. Or don't.

To me, fiction is this crazy, winding map that takes me to amazing and terrifying places. I've fallen in love with characters and hated villains. I've laughed until I cried. I've mourned when a book ended because I wouldn't see those characters again.

I write because nothing interests me more than words and how they can be shaped into everything from dust to starlight. How a creature can rise out of the page and thrill or scare me. I'll keep writing as long as I have a story to tell you.

One of my favorite types of story involves a creature.

I write a lot of creature and cryptid stories. I'm also fond of urban legends and folk horror. In fact, I'm working on a creature story now. Can't wait to see how it works out.

Whether you're a reader or a writer or both, thanks for coming by.

Lyndsey
